Here is why: sometimes you just need a quick note to another person who is not at your office (as most of us live a virtual lifestyle). Well with Instant Messenger, you can do that. The great thing about it is you don’t have the clutter of an email for something that does not need a paper trail, AND you get the feeling that you are all in a room together.
It’s also great when you are doing JV calls with partners on a teleseminar. You can ‘whisper’ to each other via IM, and the audience does not ‘hear’ you.
